Reflections on Parallels

I am proud to say that I have learnt the most awesome skill of communocation from the most awesome book, the Quran , of course written by the most awesome Writer , our own Creator 🙂

The skill is pairing of similar terms and then giving the reader space to ponder and reflect on their similarities and differences. This is done beautifully in Quran !

In Surah Fatiha you find a mention of Rahman and Raheem and at the end you find Maghdoob e Alehim and Dualin…

Whenever you have time, ponder on meanings of these and you will find yourself diving in for hours and not wanting to come out due to the awe of the meaning ! 🙂

This post is dedicated to terms we use in daily life that we can reflect on, with our kids, with our spouses, and family, colleagues and mutually understand how we can better put them to use and apply them in our lives!

You would be amazed each word and each person will be coming with different and unique perceptions and reflections and that will be an amazing experience, worth having in the otherwise busy lives we are in these days!

  1. The pairs you have mentioned are connected in an eccentric ways. While some of the words appear to be closely related; there is an evident difference between them. The connection between them,in general, is that either one word is acting as a stimulator to the other word or is a pre-req for the other.
Leader and Manager – Leader and Manager are two opposite things. A leader always inspires through his words and actions. A manager is just a role, a job. A manager is like a boss. He wants things get done by his resources. A leader equally participates in the completion of task.
Efficient and Effective – Efficient is doing everything possible..effective refers to the results produced.
Confidence and Boldness Confidence means knowing your own worth. Being Content and satisfied. I believe boldness is being confident in a less positive way. Thats just what I think.
Creativity and Productivity- Creativity opens new doors.Creativity is to think out of the box. Simply put, Creativity can not be measured.. but productivity can always be measured in terms of gaining and losing. But creativity doesn’t involve gaining or losing anything.
Character and Behavior – Character is something that lingers with your personality. However, behavior is a temporary expression. Sometimes behavior can be good or bad. But character is something you cant subtract from someone’s overall personality. This pair is similar to the “Climate-Weather”.
Opinion and Fact- Opinion is based on someones own thinking. Opinion is basically a reflection of your own thinking, it is the capacity to which you can ponder and judge. Fact is a universal truth. Fact is never wrong. But opinions can be wrong.
Emotion and Reason- Reason is logical. Emotions, sadly, are biased. Emotions often lead us to think irrational. There is a reason why anger is considered Haram in Islam. It leads us to take steps we are not supposed to. Likewise, Favoritism evokes a factor of biasness.

P.S I will share my thoughts on other pair of words as well. 🙂

First off I want to say fantastic blog! I had a quick question in which I’d like to ask
if you do not mind. I was interested to know how you center yourself and clear your mind before
writing. I have had difficulty clearing my thoughts
in getting my thoughts out there. I truly do take pleasure in writing however it just seems like the first 10 to 15
minutes are wasted just trying to figure out how to begin. Any suggestions or hints?
    Appreciate it!

    1. Thanks for the appreciation. To answer your question, i would like to recommend you develop the mental picture first, before writing the blog itself. Make yourself distraction free. Write in a distraction free environment. And don’t start digitally as the first step. I don’t do it that way either.
Before any digital activity, keep a pen/pencil and a diary handy on which you keep writing your thoughts. Then two days before you are to actually release it, group your diary work into points.
Then develop a word document first, minor mistakes will be taken care of there and then via spell check and format checker.
After that you can use tools like Grammarly and others to comply to more writing best practices. Once you have your writing in a good shape, only then draft it over your blog site and add some appropriate pictures and other stuff to bring some more eyeballs.
In all the above suggestions, I have assumed that you have the ideation done. If you start thinking about the idea on which to write your post after turning your laptop on, there is no way you will ever be able to focus. You must have your idea/topic or niche defined as a pre requisite.
The world is full of ideas but sadly it is also full of distractions. Focus is the key. A writer needs focus and persistence to produce good content.

      Hope it helped.
      Happy Writing !!
